SQL-2000 linked server to SQL-2005

I'm having troubles creating a linked server. In SQL-2000 environment I need to create a linked server to SQL-2005 Named Instance. I’m able to see some system tables and views on the linked server, but that's all, no user objects. Does anybody know if this link between two different versions...

Ihave a sql 2000 and 2005 server.I need to query sql 2000 from sql 2005 machine . SQL 2000 IS RUNNING under local system account. and sql 2005 under a domain account . Is it possible to run query to sql 2000 from 20005 machine ..or else openrowset function will work for the issue... Please comment on...
