MS SQL 2000 Clustering on windows 2003

    Hi experts,

I have never done ms sql 2000 clustering, have read a few articles on the steps to install cluster.

I was just wondering if it is possible to build windows 2003 cluster and on it install ms sql 2000 cluster.

Please advice if this is possible.

    Thanx...

It is possible. However, SQL 2000 is out of support unless you have custom support agreement. If you are doing it for practice purpose I would recommend using SQL 2005.

    Hi

You mean that sql 2000 support is no more or is that the support for sql 2000 on windows 2003 OS is not there.

    Please clarify.

    Thanx...

MS stopped product support for SQL 2000 unless you have extended support contract...

Check the life cycle info from the following article...

    http://support.microsoft.com/lifecycle/?LN=en-us&p1=2852&x=16&y=15

Is there any reason installing SQL 2000 when you SQL 2008 is in the market...?

Our existing system resides on SQL 2000, service pack 3 upgrade.

We want to install windows 2003 cluster and on it have sql 2000 db cluster running. I just wanted to know if this is technically possible.

    Thanx..
