    DBCC TRACEON(208)

    We updated a server to 2005 this weekend got the problem with DBCC TRACEON(208) and excel 200? Do need to give sysadmin rights to user to run excel or are the any kb, or any other way to solve the problem for the users.

    "User 'public' does not have permission to run DBCC TRACEON"

    Check it is sql 2005 change issue...

    The applications in the organisation were recorded macros, out of the it departments control ;) . To solve the problem with made search and replace APP=#%92Microsoft® Query#%92 to APP=#%92#%92. Updated excel.
