Currently code-named 'Kilimanjaro', the version will have a greater focus on business intelligence (BI), Microsoft announced at its Business Intelligence conference on Monday. The firm also said it was working on "advanced data-warehousing functionality", currently under the code-name 'Madison'.

Microsoft is gearing up to go big with its plans for its own version of its hosted development platform later this month. But Amazon.com isn’t sitting idly by, waiting for Microsoft to rain on its Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2).
On October 1, Amazon announced that it plans to offer developers this fall the ability to run Windows Server or SQL Server via the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). According to the Amazon Web Services site, “the ability to run a Windows environment within Amazon EC2 has been one of our most requested features, and we are excited to be able to provide this capability.”

Log4Net Dashboard extends the benefits of using the Log4Net logging framework. Developers and system administrators will benefit from a centralized overview of the log and the easy way to analyze and filter the log.
FaktNet (www.faktnet.com) has released the latest version of Log4Net Dashboard, a web application that can read log events from a variety of targets, including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle SQL Server, XML Files and Windows Event Log.
Log4Net is widely used as a logging framework, ported from Log4J and rewritten by the Apache organization. Log4Net is today one of the top open source choices in the Microsoft .NET community.
